Live Map & Geofencing

The Map tab (web dashboard) shows every project in your company as a pin on a map — with live crew, progress, and geofence controls in one view.

What you see on the map

Each pin shows the project’s status color and percent complete. A badge on the pin shows how many people are clocked in right now — updated live as your crew clocks in and out from the mobile app.

Click a pin to open the project panel:

• On site now — everyone currently clocked in, with their cost code and how long they’ve been on the clock. A green dot means working, amber means on break, and red means they’ve left the site while still clocked in.
• Progress — scope and labor hours at a glance.
• Recent time entries and photos — with a link to the full time list filtered to that project.

Projects only appear on the map once they have an address (set it when creating the project, or in the project’s settings). The address is converted to map coordinates automatically. If a pin lands in the wrong spot, use Fix pin location in the panel to drag it where it belongs.

Geofences

Every mapped project has a geofence — a circle around the jobsite, half a mile by default. Adjust it with the radius slider in the project panel; the circle previews live as you drag.

The geofence powers two things:

Off-site flags on time entries

When a clock-in or clock-out happens outside the project’s geofence, the time entry gets a 📍 flag in the Time tab’s Flags column, and the entry detail shows how far from the site it happened. Nothing is blocked — the flag is there so whoever approves time can ask the right questions.

Leaving the jobsite while clocked in

If a worker leaves the geofence while still on the clock, the mobile app sends them a notification — “You’ve left the jobsite and you’re still clocked in” — so forgotten clock-outs get caught in the moment, not at payroll time.

The entry also gets a 🚶 flag showing when they left and how far they went, visible in the time list and entry details on both web and mobile. Taking a break first suppresses the reminder — lunch runs don’t nag.

LogLoon never clocks anyone out automatically. The worker stays in control of their time; the reminder and the flag just keep everyone honest.

Location privacy

The mobile app uses location only while a worker is clocked in. Monitoring starts at clock-in, stops at clock-out, and the phone shows the standard location indicator the whole time — nothing is tracked off the clock, and location data is never shared with third parties.
